I’d been talking to this guy on tinder for about a month. From all outward appearances he was a tall country-boy type. He wasn’t pushy, needy, and seemed sweet from what I could tell in the messages. There was no intense or instant connection but he was sweet and uncomplicated so when he asked me to meet him for lunch on a Saturday I was happy to.
We meet at a little BBQ joint slightly north of where I am from and lunch goes well. He’s in his early 30s and recently divorced. A pretty straightforward background really. We leave with a hug and agree to meetup again.
The following day he is leaving for a week long camping and hunting trip with his brothers in northern part of the state. Throughout the week we continue to text sporadically but nothing extensive.
The last morning of his trip he sends me a message: “I’d like to send you some sunrise photos”.
To this point we’ve not exchanged any photos beyond the app profile. Being that he’s up in the hills and I’m sure the views there are absolutely stunning and photo-worthy, I’m excited and think it’s such a sweet thought on his part.
The message with the photos come in. As I open it I realize that we weren’t talking about the same sunrise.
It’s dick pics. Three different photos of his dick. From three different angles.
Me: WTF
Him: Oh, you thought I was sending pics of an actual sunrise
Me:
Him: Well aren’t these better
Me: Not if you were actually trying to date me
Delete and block.
Here’s the thing on this. As I said, he seemed nice but we’d never broached the topic of sex and there was absolutely nothing to warrant him thinking I wanted to see that. I don’t even know if anyone who read our texts would see it as flirting.
I’m still pissed that I didn’t get any awesome sunrise photos.
